Golden Jackel (Canis aureus)
The Golden jackal (Canis aureus) inhabits north-eastern Africa, south-eastern Europe, Asia minor, the Middle East and south east Asia. The largest of the jackals, it's a highly adaptable species, being able to live in numerous different habitats, such as the African savannas, the mountains of the Caucasus and the forests of India, and thrives in the Israeli desert and mountains.
